contrition is an incredibly private affair.

such an intimate and bare moment then begs the question of belonging.

does the audience belong in this piece? do the performers belong in this piece?

the whispering alienates the audience by taking away their sense of audition.

the IPA notation alienates the performers by dismantling linguistic shortcuts to literacy.

therefore, no entity in a performance of this work truly belongs in that space.
