「歸一」 Gwi-il
wind quintet [2024]
Gwi-il is a piece that centers around the process of individual lines converging upon a single point. This convergence is further refined through multiple unrelated constraints that concentrate the raw material into a tightly woven thread. Oddly, this ever-tightening constriction results in a harmony of sorts; the unstable energy and sporadic impulses that begin the piece are, by the end, forced into a seemingly stable, yet inorganic mold.
